Job Description

An IT Support Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of an organization's IT systems and infrastructure. As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving any technical issues that affect end users. This dynamic role involves a combination of customer service and technical expertise, requiring a thorough understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, and applications. You will work collaboratively with other IT professionals to implement solutions and maintain system performance. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, as well as strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with users and stakeholders at all levels within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues promptly.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end users in-person or remotely.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and escalation if necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure consistent performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to deploy new technology and upgrades effectively.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of support activities and resolutions.
  • Conduct routine system audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in managing inventory and procurement of hardware and software resources.
  • Assist with training end users on new technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in the development of IT policies and procedures to enhance service delivery.
  • Support ongoing projects and initiatives to improve IT service efficiency and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer or similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in analyzing and troubleshooting network and connectivity issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for user interactions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
