Role Purpose

This role is responsible for defining, implementing, and governing end to end IT vendor lifecycle management processes, policies, and frameworks. The role ensures that all IT vendors deliver value, operate within contractual and regulatory requirements, and align with IT’s strategic, operational and risk objectives. Working closely with procurement, contract management, compliance and legal, the role will strengthen vendor governance, performance management, and risk controls across the IT state.  

Key Accountabilities
  • Define the IT sourcing and vendor management strategy, enabling IT leadership team in make-buy decisions and supplier consolidation initiatives. 
  • Define and own the end-to-end IT vendor lifecycle management framework, covering sourcing, onboarding, contracting, performance management, renewal, and exit.  
  • Develop and maintain policies, contract documents, and operating procedures for IT sourcing and vendor management. 
  • Partner with Procurement to align sourcing strategies, RFP/RFQ processes, vendor selection criteria, and commercial negotiations.  
  • Work closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance and Contract Management to lead IT sourcing activities and ensure contracts are fit for purpose, risk-balanced and aligned with service, security, data protection, compliance and commercial requirements.  
  • Design and implement a vendor segmentation model to enable differentiated governance, performance management, and engagement approaches. 
  • Establish and manage vendor governance models, including performance reviews, service reporting, issue escalation, and continuous improvement.  
  • Support IT delivery teams by defining vendor performance metrics, ensuring vendors are effectively onboarded and governed.  
  • Drive continuous improvement of sourcing and vendor management practices, incorporating industry best practice.  
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems or related field. 
  • Proven experience in IT sourcing and vendor management in large complex organisations  
  • Strong understanding of vendor lifecycle management, sourcing best practices, and contract governance  
  • Experience designing and implementing vendor management frameworks and segmentation models  
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across IT, procurement, legal, and compliance. 
  • Solid commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and understanding of IT contracts and licensing models.
