Role Purpose

This role is responsible for owning and managing all IT services at a construction or project site, ensuring technology, connectivity, and systems reliably support site operations, delivery timelines, and safety requirements. 

 

The role acts as the single point of accountability for site IT, bridging site leadership, central IT teams, and external suppliers to ensure stable, secure, and scalable IT services throughout the project lifecycle. 

Key Accountabilities
  • Act as the primary IT contact for the construction site 
  • Own all site IT services including connectivity, devices, applications, and AV 
  • Represent IT in site leadership and coordination meetings 
  • Lead and coordinate on-site Site Engineers and contractors 
  • Ensure IT supports site productivity, reporting, and compliance needs 
  • Own site connectivity including internet circuits, Wi-Fi, local networks, and mobile connectivity 
  • Coordinate with telco providers, ISPs, and vendors for installations and fault resolution 
  • Ensure asset management, onboarding, offboarding, and device lifecycle processes are followed 
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, diagrams, and inventories 
  • Ensure IT changes on site are planned, communicated, and approved 
  • Ensure site IT complies with security policies and standards 
  • Build strong relationships with site leadership and project teams 
  • Coordinate IT activity with central Infrastructure, EUC, Cloud, and Service teams 
  • Deliver a professional, customer-focused support experience 
  • Maintain build documentation, standards, and runbooks 
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction site management  
  • Proven experience in site-based IT support or site IT leadership 
  • Strong understanding of end-user computing, connectivity, and site infrastructure 
  • Experience working in construction, engineering, or project-based environments 
  • Ability to operate independently and make decisions on site 
  • Experience coordinating vendors and external suppliers 
  • Experience managing or mentoring IT engineers 
  • Exposure to cloud-based collaboration tools and modern workplace environments 
  • Experience supporting large or complex construction projects 
  • Basic understanding of IT security and compliance in site environments 
  • ITIL 4 Foundation
