Job Description

An IT Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and successful completion of IT projects within an organization. The primary function of this role is to support project managers in the execution of IT projects which could range from software development to network implementations or system upgrades. The IT Project Coordinator acts as a vital link between various stakeholders, including technical teams, senior management, and external vendors. They are responsible for overseeing project timelines, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule and in line with the project objectives. Their meticulous organizational skills and keen attention to detail help in identifying potential risks or issues before they escalate, thereby guaranteeing project success. Additionally, IT Project Coordinators often handle budgeting and resource allocation, ensuring that project resources are optimally utilized to achieve strategic goals.


Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in the successful execution and delivery of IT projects.
  • Coordinate communication between project stakeholders, including customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure project information accuracy and accessibility.
  • Monitor project schedules and intervene to resolve delays strategically and effectively.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide ongoing update reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure that project milestones and deliverables are met within the established timeframe.
  • Identify potential risks in projects and propose mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Assist in the management of project-related budgets, resource planning, and allocation.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and implement process improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot hardware and software issues that may arise.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new project team members by providing necessary training.
  • Support post-project analysis and documentation for insights and future project planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a project coordinator or similar role within IT projects.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaison with all stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools, such as Microsoft Project or JIRA.
  • Ability to foresee risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize potential impacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
