Role Purpose

This role is responsible for owning and managing the enterprise-wide IT portfolio to ensure alignment with IT and business strategy and transformation objectives. The role provides strategic insight, and data-driven recommendations to support executive decision-making across portfolio planning, investment prioritization, and transformation execution.  

Working with IT Business Partners, this role leads short- and long-term IT business planning, portfolio prioritization, delivery governance, ensuring programs are funded, governed, and executed effectively to deliver measurable business outcomes, optimized resource utilization, and sustained value (ROI) across the organization.  

Key Accountabilities
  • Own and manage the enterprise IT portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and business priorities  
  • Develop, maintain, and govern short-term and long-term IT business plans, including multi-year investment roadmaps  
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on portfolio health, investment decisions, risks, and trade-offs  
  • Work closely with IT Business Partners to assess, prioritize, and balance demand across IT initiatives  
  • Establish and operate a portfolio governance framework, including prioritization, dependency management, benefits realization, and executive reporting  
  • Track, measure, and report on ROI, benefits realization, and value delivery across the IT and transformation portfolio.  
  • Own and manage the IT portfolio budget, including forecasting, financial controls, cost optimization, and variance management  
  • Provide regular executive and leadership reporting on portfolio performance, financial performance, risks and dependencies 
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Strategy, Architecture, and Delivery teams to support investment governance and funding decisions  
  • Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management practices, tools, and reporting to increase transparency, efficiency, and business value.   
  • Build, mentor and empower team members to support career progression, capability uplift, and high performance across the portfolio/program delivery function  
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline;  
  • 8–10+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, PMO, enterprise program management, or transformation leadership roles.  
  • Proven experience managing budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and ROI analysis in complex organizations.  
  • Strong experience in IT governance, investment management, and benefits realization.  
  • Relevant certifications such as PfMP, PMP, SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, ITIL, or COBIT are highly desirable.  
  • Strong advisory and influencing skills with the confidence to provide constructive challenge at senior levels  
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.  
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities with a focus on outcomes and value realization.  
  • Ability to manage complexity, competing priorities, and cross-functional dependencies.  
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
