Job Description
IT that keeps 1,100+ devices running across 4 continents isnt a support function. Its infrastructure for everything else.
Every trader on our platform, every employee writing code, every compliance check running in the background — they all depend on the network being fast, the endpoints being clean, and the systems being secure. When IT slips, everything downstream feels it.

Deriv runs around the clock across time zones, regulatory environments, and office cultures. That means IT issues dont wait for business hours — and manual processes dont scale when a new country comes online.
Were already building toward IT that runs itself: automated device provisioning, AI-assisted troubleshooting workflows, MDM configurations that enforce policy without anyone clicking approve. Youll be part of making that real.
Our IT Operations team sits inside our Security organisation. You wont just keep the lights on — youll help build infrastructure thats secure by design from the start.
What Youll Work On
Your work will span a few areas depending on team needs and where your strengths land:
Your placement will depend on where the team needs you most. Expect to touch all three.
What Youll Do
Keep infrastructure healthy without being asked.
Monitor and maintain systems proactively. Identify whats degrading before it fails. When something breaks, fix the symptom and find the cause.
Build automations that make the next incident shorter.
If youre doing the same thing manually three times, youre already late to automate it. Scripts, workflows, integrations — whatever gets the job done and removes the human from the critical path.
Own the endpoint lifecycle.
Software deployments, policy enforcement, compliance checks. Devices dont manage themselves yet — but your job is to get them closer.
Keep global offices connected.
Configure and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and site-to-site networking. When connectivity drops in one office at 3am somewhere else, your work is what holds.
Set new hires up before day one.
Equipment ready, access provisioned, the basics handled. New hires shouldnt waste their first day chasing IT. They shouldnt need to.
Who You Are
You troubleshoot independently.
Hardware, software, networking issues. You dont need someone to walk you through it every time — you diagnose, test a fix, and document what you found.
You know Mac and Linux well.
Not just enough to get by. You understand their security models, their quirks, and what they let you do that other platforms dont.
Youve touched enterprise networking.
Fortigate, Aruba, Cisco — or something comparable. You understand how firewalls, switches, and access points work together, and you know how to tell when theyre not.
You reach for automation before repetition.
When somethings tedious, your instinct is to make it not tedious — not to accept it. Shell scripting, MDM automation, API integrations — whatever closes the loop.
You communicate clearly across cultures.
Deriv is global. Strong written and spoken English matters. So does the ability to explain a technical problem to someone who doesnt want to hear jargon.
Bonus
Experience with Python, Ansible, bash/zsh, or other scripting tools that help you turn do it again into done forever.
Tech and Tools
The Honest Reality
IT Operations is reactive by nature — until you make it not. Youll spend part of your time responding to things that break and part of your time building systems that prevent them from breaking. The ratio shifts as you automate more.
Youll also be sitting inside a Security team. That means security mindset isnt optional — its the baseline. Good security and fast IT dont have to be in conflict, but it takes deliberate design to make them work together.
If you want to resolve tickets and go home, this isnt the right role. If you want to leave infrastructure in better shape than you found it — and have the space to actually do that — it might be.
