Job Summary

The IT Officer is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support and assisting in the operation and maintenance of the hotel's IT systems, business applications, and end-user technology. The role supports colleagues across all departments by resolving technical issues, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring that technology services remain reliable, secure, and available to support hotel operations. Working closely with the IT team, the position helps deliver effective technology solutions that contribute to operational efficiency and enhance the overall guest experience.

The role provides support for the hotel's core technology platforms, including Microsoft 365, OPERA Cloud PMS, Simphony POS, telephony, guest Wi-Fi, CCTV, IPTV, and other operational systems. The IT Officer is also responsible for maintaining accurate IT records, supporting asset management activities, assisting with system upgrades and deployments, and ensuring compliance with IT policies and cybersecurity standards. Through a proactive and service-oriented approach, the position helps maintain high levels of user satisfaction while supporting the hotel's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for colleagues and hotel departments.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, email services, password resets, and account access requests.
• Support hotel systems including OPERA Cloud PMS, Simphony POS, telephony, CCTV, IPTV, guest Wi-Fi, and IT equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues, escalating when required.
• Maintain and update helpdesk tickets, ensuring incidents and service requests are properly documented.
• Assist with software installations, system updates, antivirus management, and routine maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, equipment assignments, and inventory.
• Assist with device deployments, replacements, and office relocations.
• Support meeting rooms, events, and conference technology requirements.
• Follow IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and operational procedures.
• Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and provide excellent customer service.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.
  
  

Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably within hospitality.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, user account administration, and endpoint management.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity.
• Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Familiarity with hospitality applications such as OPERA Cloud PMS and Simphony POS is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL Foundation, or other relevant certifications are advantageous.
