Job Description

An IT Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the technology infrastructure of an organization to ensure that it aligns with business goals. This position requires a strategic thinker who can manage complex IT projects, support the IT team, and communicate effectively with staff across all departments. The IT Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all IT-related activities within the organization. This person must establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of the department's strategies set by top management. Strong leadership skills are essential, as the IT Manager will lead a team tasked with implementing cutting-edge technologies and ensuring the security and efficiency of technological systems. They must stay current with emerging technology trends to identify opportunities that drive innovation and efficiency within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices for the organization.
  • Plan and oversee IT projects from conception to completion within assigned deadlines.
  • Manage and provide leadership to the IT team to support company technology operations.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of company data and technological infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with department managers to identify and fulfill their technology needs.
  • Monitor and analyze IT system performance to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, upgrading, and security of software and hardware.
  • Prepare and manage the IT budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers to ensure service delivery.
  • Stay updated with current and emerging technology trends and suggest enhancements.
  • Organize training sessions for employees to enhance IT skills relevant to operational needs.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans and conduct IT audits to ensure business continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in IT management or a similar role.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate an IT team.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems, networks, and IT systems management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills required for IT challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience with budget management and understanding of financial data related to IT spending.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and COBIT frameworks is advantageous.
