Job Description

An IT Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing a company's technology infrastructure and ensuring it's aligned with the business's strategic objectives. This position requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen to effectively manage IT resources, troubleshoot IT issues, and mentor the IT team. The IT Manager is responsible for implementing IT policies, managing IT budgets, and collaborating with other departments to improve performance and efficiency. They must ensure the smooth execution of IT tasks, address network security issues, and enhance the overall IT infrastructure to support the organization’s growth. Their role is integral in maintaining the functionality, security, and efficacy of the organization's IT systems.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT policies and strategies to support business goals.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of hardware, software, and networks.
  • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems to prevent breaches.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time to enhance IT operations.
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes to ensure they meet adherence standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industry’s IT strategies and technologies.
  • Coordinate with users and stakeholders to address their needs and resolve IT issues.
  • Develop an annual IT operating and capital budget for information and technology systems.
  • Monitor and test IT system performance to prevent future problems and improve workflow.
  • Prepare and review operational reports or project progress reports for management review.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or in a similar senior-level IT position.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills to manage a team's performance effectively.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and provide practical solutions to IT challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively collaborating with stakeholders and team members.
