About our client

Our client is a rapidly growing global investment firm with ambitions to significantly scale its assets and platform over the coming years. The business has a strong track record, with senior leadership having completed dozens of investments across multiple strategies. As the firm continues to expand, it is placing greater emphasis on portfolio-level thinking, strategic planning, and organisational design. To support this, the firm has recently established a dedicated portfolio and strategy function to drive initiatives across the platform.

This function is responsible for overseeing portfolio strategy, evaluating new investment strategies, assessing organisational structures, and supporting the firm’s long-term growth plans. The team operates in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment with significant exposure to senior leadership and investment decision-making. The firm is now looking to hire a Strategy Associate to join this newly formed function and help shape the future direction of the platform. This is a high-impact role, ideal for someone with a strong strategic mindset, excellent analytical skills, and a solid understanding of investment businesses.

What the job involves

  • Support the development and execution of portfolio-level strategy across multiple investment strategies
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis on new strategies, products, and industry trends
  • Assist with organisational planning, including team structures, incentive schemes, and operational models
  • Work on strategic initiatives such as new product launches, platform expansion, and business scaling plans
  • Prepare high-quality presentations and analysis for senior leadership and investment committees
  • Manage and coordinate internal strategic projects across different teams
  • Support portfolio reviews, vintage analysis, and strategic allocation decisions

Who we are looking for

  • Experience in management consulting, private equity, or a similar strategic role involving private markets investing
  • Strong understanding of investment firms and private markets environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience conducting market research, strategic analysis, or internal consulting projects
  • Excellent project management capabilities and ability to work across multiple initiatives
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a lean, high-performance team
