We are looking for an Investment Analyst to join the team covering Eastern Europe and Middle East and North Africa and Pakistan regions, to analyze and monitor the credit risk and country risk for institutions located in these regions.

The position is based in Yerevan, with reporting line to the Regional Manager based in our Head Office in Geneva. We offer a dynamic work environment in a growing industry and an opportunity to work in the social investment space with a for-profit company.

Job Description

Develop, maintain and monitor a portfolio of companies in the regions

Analyze operational reports including monthly and annual financial reports

Conduct on-site annual due diligences, and assess the credit risk and ESG standards

Develop a new pipeline of credit worthy investment targets in specific markets

Monitor KYC annual reviews of institutions where Symbiotics is invested

Be the market and sector specialist in the respective region

Monitor global situation, opportunities and risks in financial markets

Research and monitor country related information required to produce country analysis reports and updates on local legal frameworks

We are looking for a person who is organized, mature, and able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, as well as having attention to detail and pride in the quality of ones work.

More specifically, you have the following skills and competencies:

• Proficient in processing and analyzing financial data (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, business plan)
• Five to ten years of experience in the financial sector
• Bachelor’s university degree, preferably in a finance or economics related field
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Other languages such as French or Arabic are a plus
• Willing and able to travel to emerging markets (3-4 times a year, up to 35%)
• Strong interest in impact finance and sustainable development, international development or financial inclusion
• Knowledge of financial institutions, agribusinesses, holding structures and/or Islamic finance is an added plus
• Client-facing role, very good capacity to understand and adapt to support clients needs
• Capacity to manage competing demands and priorities, handle multiple tasks daily and work autonomously and remotely
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and good team player
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and multi-cultural workplace
• Armenian national or valid Work Permit is required
