Investment Analyst - Equities

An asset manager is seeking an Equity Analyst to join its investment team. The role reports directly to the CEO and Portfolio Managers and carries responsibility for generating investment ideas, maintaining research coverage, and supporting the team's investment process across listed equities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and research investment opportunities in listed equities across assigned markets, developing top-down and stock-level investment theses for recommendation to the Equity Team and Sub-Investment Committee.
• Analyse company and industry information relevant to given investment opportunities, with a focus on obtaining high-quality, actionable research.
• Build and maintain financial models to determine the intrinsic value of investment opportunities.
• Maintain regular contact with portfolio companies on behalf of the asset manager.
• Travel approximately two to three weeks per year to meet with portfolio companies and identify new investment opportunities.
• Ensure the research database remains current across areas of primary responsibility, including stock-specific notes, investment theses, financial models, and ESG scorecards, as well as relevant market and industry data.
• Assist with the administration of team documentation used to fulfil process and procedural commitments to clients.
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in Economics, Finance, or Humanities; progress toward or completion of the CFA designation is an advantage.
• Three to five years of equity research experience; exposure to MENA or broader emerging markets is preferred.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to construct financial models and assess intrinsic value.
• Good understanding of emerging markets and the fund management business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple workstreams independently and within a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
