Job Description

As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring efficient inventory systems. Your main focus will be on optimizing inventory levels, minimizing discrepancies, and supervising the movement of stock throughout the supply chain. You will utilize your keen attention to detail and analytical skills to monitor stock levels, processing orders, and reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and system data. Working closely with purchasing, warehousing, and distribution teams, you will ensure seamless and accurate inventory operations that align with organizational objectives. This role is pivotal in maintaining product availability, reducing costs, and improving service levels for both internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using advanced inventory management software.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits to ensure consistency between system records and actual stock.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast inventory levels and assist in order planning.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and warehousing teams to optimize inventory control processes.
  • Identify discrepancies and investigate inventory management issues and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement improved inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts and ensure product availability.
  • Process and coordinate inventory transactions such as shipments, returns, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inventory reports for management review.
  • Train and guide staff on proper inventory procedures and usage of systems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in all inventory operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or similar role in inventory management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to manage inventory accurately.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve inventory issues and improve processes.
