Your Job
Reporting to the Head of Talent, IH, the Employee Relations Officer will foster positive employee relationships, ensure compliance with labour laws and organizational policies across multiple regions, and address employee concerns in a culturally diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. The role requires expertise in global HR practices, conflict resolution, and knowledge of regional employment regulations, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Main Reponsabilities
Employee Relations Strategy:
Develop and implement global employee relations strategies that align with Cigna International Health (IH) values and business objectives.
Promote a positive workplace culture across diverse regions (eg: APAC, Europe, Middle East, and Africa) by proactively addressing employee concerns and fostering engagement.
Policy Development And Compliance
Create global HR policies to ensure compliance with local labour laws and international standards.
Audit and review grievance procedures and employee relations strategy to ensure adherence to relevant labor laws.
Advise regional HRBPs and the IH HR leadership team on legal risks, workforce management, and cultural sensitivities.
Case Management
Coordinate with regional HR teams to handle complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions.
Arrange meetings among involved parties to identify causes of conflicts and resolve them via a fair mediation process.
Conduct fair, impartial investigations into workplace concerns while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regional/ local legal standards.
Training And Support
Coordinate with the IH Learning and Development team to conduct training for both employees and managers, ensuring they have the resources to drive positive employee relations.
Support managers and leaders in effectively managing their teams, addressing concerns, and fostering collaborative relationships.
Data And Reporting
Analyse trends in employee relations data to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
Provide regular reports to the IH HR Leadership team on case outcomes, regional compliance issues, and overall areas for improvement in employee engagement.
Global Collaboration
Work closely with regional HR teams, legal advisors, and external consultants to address complex issues and maintain consistency across regions.
Act as a liaison between the enterprise team and IH HR Leadership to ensure alignment of overarching goals and strategies.
Education Level
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED
Bachelor’s degree in Employment Law, or a related field.
Specific Knowledge & Experience
Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in employee relations, including a global or regional role.
Strong knowledge of international labour laws, regulations, and HR practices.
Experience working in a multicultural and international/matrixed organization.
Skills
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proven ability to navigate complex, sensitive issues across cultural and regional boundaries.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend actionable solutions.
Proficient in HR software, case management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
