Overview

We are seeking Procurement Intern to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the team, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the execution of sourcing, purchasing, and contract activities. This position is ideal for a proactive individual looking to build a strong foundational knowledge of procurement principles, cost management, and efficiency drivers within a professional setting.

The successful candidate will report to the Procurement Manager.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

Functional (Job Responsibilities)

  • Assist in the execution of the sourcing process, including market research, identifying potential suppliers, and preparing comparison documentation.
  • Support the management of various corporate service contracts by assisting with documentation, filing, and performance monitoring tasks.
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives by analyzing basic corporate service spending data and identifying initial areas for optimization.
  • Help maintain supplier records and act as a point of contact for routine supplier inquiries to ensure timely service and information flow.
  • Execute daily administrative procurement tasks, such as processing purchase requisitions and orders, and providing logistical support for larger team projects.
  • Support the assessment of basic risks within the procurement and supply chain process through data compilation and verification.

Education/Qualification

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, or a relevant supply-chain qualification.

Experience/Requirements

  • 6 months internship duration is preferred.
  • Experience through academic projects or part-time work is a plus.
  • A strong interest in procurement, supply chain, and business operations is essential.
  • Familiarity with concepts of sustainability, green procurement, or e-procurement systems (like Oracle) is a bonus.
  • Working proficiency in English and Malay (written/spoken) and competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word & Excel).
