Job Description
APCO is seeking a detail-oriented Intern for a 3-month assignment, with the possibility of extension, to monitor and analyze media data using advanced social listening tools. In this role, you will design sophisticated search queries, ensure the accuracy and quality of data, and assess media consumption trends across both domestic and international news cycles. You will work closely with research, editorial, and communications teams to deliver clear, timely analytic reports and briefing materials that support the government advisory center’s projects. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to synthesize complex information are essential for this position.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze data through media monitoring/social listening platforms
- Design and implement complex search queries across a number of topics
- Regularly conduct QA of data feeds to ensure quality standards
- Analyze and perform calculations across media consumption metrics
- Stay informed on news cycle domestically and internationally
- Work closely with broader research, editorial, and communications teams to help support and inform project outcomes
- Produce timely, logical, and concise analytic reports, documents, assessments, studies, and briefing materials in formats including Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), electronic/soft copy matrices, and/or web-enabled formats.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear, actionable deliverables
- Language: Fluent in English and Arabic
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is required.
