Role Overview

The Interior Designer - Design Manager will be embedded full-time in the clients office in Abu Dhabi. This role encompasses design development, project coordination, and on-site supervision support, requiring close collaboration with senior team members, clients, and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

What This Job Involves

Design Development & Documentation

  • Support the development of designs and projects under the guidance of senior team members
  • Prepare and develop conceptual designs, technical drawings, 3D models, presentations, mood boards, finishes boards, and other design documentation
  • Participate in space planning, layout, and utilization of furnishings and equipment
  • Contribute to innovative design concepts that are functional, safe, and align with client goals within project budgets and timescales

Project & Design Coordination

  • Support the creation of project Business Cases for offices, warehouses, parking buildings, and other facilities
  • Assist in reviewing design packages submitted by contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with client principles and requirements
  • Support design coordination between all relevant departments and stakeholders
  • Help define and document project Scopes of Work
  • Assist with detailed tender reviews and support the tender award process
  • Prepare and maintain project dashboards to track progress, milestones, and deliverables under senior guidance

Client Engagement & Collaboration

  • Work full-time from the clients office in Abu Dhabi
  • Assist in preparing and participating in client presentations
  • Support client-based site supervision once construction is live until project handover, working alongside senior project managers
  • Support the client Real Estate team on ongoing and upcoming projects across various tasks and responsibilities

Professional Development & Compliance

  • Actively seek opportunities for continuing professional development
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with JLL procedures and standards
  • Develop understanding of the local market, including contractors, suppliers, and market costs
  • Contribute and assist in various aspects of the design process as required

Required Skills And Experience

Education & Experience

  • Degree qualified in architecture, interior design, or foreign equivalent
  • 2-3 years demonstrated experience in corporate interiors
  • Experience working in a team environment with guidance from senior professionals

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to produce coordinated technical drawings and design documentation
