Overview
The Integration & Technical Infrastructure Manager (ITIM) will be responsible for executing Microsoft’s project design fitout (data hall and admin spaces) across data centre construction projects in the United Arab Emirates. Scope includes and not limited to mechanical, electrical, telecoms, security, CSA and network.
The ITIM will champion Microsoft’s Health & Safety, Quality, and Ethical standards, ensuring they are deeply embedded into all project activities. This role collaborates closely with Construction, Commissioning, Engineering, Safety, End-to-End and Operations teams to deliver safe, high‑quality, world‑class data centre builds across the region.
This is an onsite Project Management role with regional responsibilities and will require travel to multiple data centre sites within the UAE and, as needed, across the wider MEA region. This position will require travel up to 50% of the time to data center sites.
Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I)
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) organization delivers the secure, scalable, and high‑quality cloud infrastructure that underpins Microsoft’s global cloud services. CO+I manages the lifecycle of data centres—from site selection and design to construction, integration, operations, and sustainability.
In the UAE, CO+I plays a critical role in the rapid expansion of cloud availability zones and lease‑based capacity, ensuring safe, compliant, and predictable project delivery across a dynamic and fast‑growing region.
Responsibilities
The key competencies and responsibilities of the ITIM include, but are not limited to:
- Align regional and metro‑level delivery strategies with local team objectives, business processes, vendor management approaches, and cross‑group collaboration requirements.
- Serve as a relentless advocate for safe construction practices, supporting the Microsoft High‑Risk Activity (HRA) program and driving strong trade coordination models to enhance site safety and integration.
- Coordinate internal Microsoft scope, resource planning, technical requirements, and schedules with Internal Stakeholders, General Contractors, Lease Providers, Vendors, and Suppliers to ensure streamlined and predictable execution.
- Identify and document Microsoft scope boundaries to recommend the most effective delivery model.
- Develop and manage project plans, linking them to major contractual and schedule milestones, and support corresponding financial approvals.
- Project risk and issue management. Report on contractual and schedule milestones.
- Represent Microsoft onsite, participating in day‑to‑day project management activities and overseeing progress, quality, and compliance.
- Apply a growth‑mindset approach: identify process gaps, strengthen frameworks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Hire, onboard, manage, and develop diverse technical and project resources in alignment with regional growth and delivery needs.
- Identify and document local or regional safety issues, working‑hour restrictions, compliance requirements, or regulatory considerations that may influence project planning or execution.
- Indentify and Manage stakeholder dependencies and deliverables with the following Microsoft teams: Fit out, Comissioning, E2E (End-to-End), Security (DCPS), Data Center Engineering (DCE), Data Center Operations (DC Ops), Site Selection and Acquisition (SSA), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).
- Manage lease providers, external consultants and suppliers.
- Manage & support vendor contracts
- Ensure metro goals of delivering capacity are aligned to business OKRs
- Identify and track KPI to help with improvement in delivery. Provide feedback and insight to leadership on areas of improvement
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates should have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical field.
- Significant experience in IT infrastructure and/or construction‑related project management.
- Direct onsite experience managing datacenter or mission‑critical construction projects (client‑side or contractor‑side).
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines within fast‑paced environments.
- Experience leading large‑scale enterprise projects involving localized and virtual teams.
- RCDD or equivalent technical accreditation preferred.
- Strong cross‑group collaboration and influencing skills with a track record of delivering through multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Ability to work effectively within teams composed of full‑time employees and consultant partners.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, process improvement capability, and delivery discipline.
