Associate Attorney — Insurance Defense (Hybrid)

Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Hybrid — 2–3 days onsite / 2–3 days remote
Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 base (DOE) + bonus

The Opportunity

A well-established, mid-sized defense law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney (3–10 years experience) to join its Dallas office. The firm has approximately 50 attorneys across two offices (Dallas and Houston) and maintains a strong reputation in insurance defense and civil litigation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking strong case ownership, hands-on litigation experience, and a collaborative firm culture with flexible hybrid scheduling.

Practice Areas / Case Work

General liability defense

Premises liability

Personal injury defense

Insurance defense matters

Civil litigation from inception through resolution

Attorneys handle meaningful litigation responsibilities and work directly with partners and clients.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution

Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery

Conduct depositions and attend hearings

Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial strategy

Handle mediations and settlement negotiations

Communicate directly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel

Collaborate with partners and support staff on case strategy

Ideal Background

3–10 years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience

Experience handling general liability, premises liability, or personal injury defense matters preferred

Strong writing, deposition, and case management skills

Ability to manage files independently with appropriate supervision

Texas Bar admission required
