Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector - Mechanical to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As an Inspector Mechanical, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical systems in various construction projects throughout the city.
- Reading and understanding the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, together with any associated updates.
- Ensuring the Contractor(s) are complying with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing as well as tracking quality assurance progress.
- Maintaining records of the Contractor’s manpower and equipment daily resources.
- Review and understand all mechanical contract documents, detailed design drawings, specifications, and health and safety requirements, including all revisions and updates.
- Ensure the contractor’s mechanical works comply with approved drawings, standards, and specifications through site observations, testing, and quality assurance tracking.
- Maintain detailed daily records of the contractor’s manpower, equipment, and mechanical resources.
- Conduct and supervise site inspections for all mechanical works as directed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
- Document all on-site activities including equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and inspection details.
- Monitor delivery, storage, and installation of mechanical materials and ensure compliance with approved submittals and quality procedures.
- Follow up on and implement all site instructions issued by the RE/ARE.
- Apply and implement all project quality control and quality assurance procedures relevant to mechanical systems.
- Perform and verify site measurements, pressure tests, and survey checks related to mechanical installations.
- Monitor the contractor’s performance for conformance to quality, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Having knowledge of proper installation and testing plumbing, firefighting, irrigation, and pump station systems as per design.
- Supervise and witness mechanical system testing and commissioning activities, verifying that results meet specified requirements.
- Monitor and enforce Health and Safety measures on site and report any violations or unsafe practices immediately.
- Coordinate with the contractor and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth integration of mechanical systems with civil, electrical, and structural works.
- Prepare and submit daily reports summarizing inspection results, progress, and any non-conformance.
- Coordinate with Dubai authorities such as Dubai Municipality (DM), DEWA, DCD, RTA, and Etihad Water & Electricity for inspections, approvals, and compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure all mechanical works follow the authority standards, NOC conditions, and permit requirements prior to execution and final handover.
- Participate in shutdown, tie-in, and connection activities with relevant authorities and ensure proper documentation and safety procedures are followed.
- Assist in the preparation and review of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation as per project and authority requirements.
- Support the Resident Engineer in progress meetings, technical discussions, and coordination with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to resolve mechanical-related issues promptly.
- Undertaking all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
- Documenting, in the areas assigned to the Inspector, the Contractor’s personnel and equipment, activities observed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilized.
- Additionally, report on materials delivery and following and implementing any site instructions made by the leader. Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.

- Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector in civil, roads, and infrastructure projects.
- At least 3 years of experience in UAE projects with strong knowledge of local regulations and standards.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Familiarity with international and UAE mechanical codes and standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
