Key Responsibilities

ETL Design:

• Design ETL workflows, mappings, and transformations using Informatica PowerCenter.
• Define data mappings, data flow diagrams, and transformation logic.
  
  

• Extract data from various source systems, such as databases, files, APIs, and web services.
• Implement efficient and reliable data extraction processes.
  
  

• Transform, clean, and enrich data as it moves through the ETL pipeline.
• Apply data quality rules and data validation during transformation.
• Data Loading:
• Load transformed data into target systems, including data warehouses, data marts, and databases.
• Ensure data loading processes are optimized for performance.
  
  

• Develop ETL mappings, workflows, and scripts in Informatica PowerCenter.
• Write SQL queries and scripts for data manipulation and transformation.
  
  

• Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Error Handling:
• Implement error handling and logging mechanisms to track and manage data integration errors.
• Develop strategies for data recovery and resubmission.
  
  

• Conduct unit testing and integration testing of ETL processes.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  
  

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes, mappings, and workflows.
• Document data lineage and data transformation rules.
  
  

• Manage changesto ETL processes, including version control and migration between environments.
• Ensure proper documentation of change requests and approvals
  
  

• Monitor ETL jobs and workflows for errors and performance issues.
• Provide support for ETL production jobs, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  
  

• Identify opportunities for ETL process optimization and automation.
• Implement best practices to streamline data integration.
  
  

• Informatica PowerCenter Expertise: Proficiency in Informatica PowerCenterfor ETL development, including designing, developing, and debugging mappings, sessions, and workflows. Experience in optimizing ETL processes for better performance.
• Data Integration and Transformation: Ability to extract, transform, and load data from various sources such as databases, flat files, and cloud-based systems. Strong understanding of data transformation techniques like aggregation, filtering, and cleansing.
• SQL and Database Management: Expertise in SQL for writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Knowledge of relational database systems like Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL. Familiarity with data modeling and normalization concepts.
• Data Warehousing Concepts: Deep understanding of data warehousing principles, including star and snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions (SCD), and fact and dimension tables.
• ETL Workflow Design: Experience in designing end-to-end ETL workflows that handle data extraction, transformation, and loading with minimal latency.
• Performance Optimization: Skills in optimizing ETL jobsfor better efficiency and reduced runtime, including indexing, partitioning, and parallel processing techniques.
• Data Governance and Quality: Knowledge of data quality management and governance principles. Familiarity with data profiling tools and processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell Scripting, Python, or Perl for automation and ETL integration tasks.
• Cloud Integration: Experience with cloud platforms and tools for data integration, such as Informatica Cloud, AWS Glue, or Azure Data Factory, is an advantage.
• Debugging and Troubleshooting: Strong ability to debug and troubleshoot issues in ETL processes, including error handling and recovery mechanisms.
• Project Management and Collaboration: Experience with Agile methodologies, working with cross-functional teams, and using project management tools like JIRA or Trello.
• Reporting and Visualization: Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos to ensure data accessibility for business users.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications like Informatica Certified Professional (ICP) or specialized certifications for Informatica Cloud and Data Engineering add value.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem- solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
