Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Controller to join our team. This critical role involves ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control within our organization. The Infection Controller will work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and staff to minimize the risk of infection transmission. The successful candidate will be a pivotal part of our healthcare team, committed to maintaining a safe environment for patient care by implementing effective infection control measures. Expertise in the development, implementation, and monitoring of infection control policies and procedures will be essential. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and analytical skills, adaptable to the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive infection control policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure policy adherence and effectiveness.
  • Educate and train staff on infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to investigate and control infection outbreaks.
  • Monitor and report on infection rates and trends within the healthcare facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal infection control regulations.
  • Lead infection control risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and update infection control materials and resources for staff and patient use.
  • Participate in the development of emergency preparedness plans related to infectious diseases.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on infection prevention strategies and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of infection control activities and outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement regarding infection control practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related healthcare field.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is strongly preferred and advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare infection control roles.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control standards, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective staff training.
  • Proven analytical skills to assess and interpret infection data and trends.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
