Your Team Responsibilities
The Middle East Index Client Coverage team, based in DIFC in Dubai, is responsible for driving MSCI’s Index business across the GCC region, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, asset managers, asset owners, hedge funds, exchanges, and key financial intermediaries.
The team leads engagement with senior stakeholders across the regional investment ecosystem, building long-term strategic relationships and delivering MSCI’s full suite of index solutions. This includes new business development, competitive displacement, client retention and expansion, and consultative engagement on clients’ investment and portfolio construction processes.
Given the strategic importance of the region, team members occupy highly visible roles and collaborate closely with senior MSCI leadership. The environment is dynamic, entrepreneurial, and commercial, requiring strong market knowledge and credibility with senior decision-makers.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support client engagement across the GCC, participating in meetings with senior institutional stakeholders and helping articulate MSCI’s equity, fixed income, ESG/Climate, Factor, Thematic, and Custom Index capabilities.
- Contribute to new business development efforts by identifying opportunities, supporting competitive displacement strategies, and helping secure new client relationships.
- Assist in managing a portfolio of important client accounts, ensuring smooth renewals, preparing materials for senior stakeholder meetings, and supporting account growth initiatives.
- Conduct discovery with clients to understand their investment objectives, regulatory context, and portfolio needs, and help translate these insights into appropriate MSCI index solutions.
- Prepare high-quality pitch materials, client proposals, commercial analysis, and sales reporting.
- Maintain and update the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely reporting.
- Collaborate with senior sales colleagues on upsell and cross-sell opportunities across index products.
- Coordinate internally with Research, Product, Legal, Consultants, and Coverage Management to support client requests and commercial execution.
- Represent MSCI at regional industry events, conferences, and client sessions, supporting senior team members and helping build MSCI’s brand presence.
Your Skills And Experience That Will Help You Excel
- Experience working in or selling to asset managers, institutional investors, or financial institutions. Experience in the GCC is an advantage.
- Ability to engage confidently and professionally with senior client stakeholders, even if accompanied by senior MSCI colleagues.
- Strong commercial mindset with demonstrable interest in sales, client engagement, and revenue growth.
- Understanding of global investment products, index methodologies, and portfolio construction concepts.
- Knowledge of investment trends, regulatory conditions, and market practices within the GCC region is helpful.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and professionally.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prepare high-quality materials, and support senior team members effectively.
- A proactive, self-starting attitude, comfortable taking ownership and working in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to leverage GenAI tools such as Copilot and GPT to enhance productivity and client preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree required; professional qualifications (CFA, CAIA) or progress toward them are a plus.
