Job Description

An Income Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of an organization's financial records. This position is typically found in various industries, including hospitality, real estate, and any business requiring meticulous financial monitoring and control. The Income Auditor is responsible for verifying, monitoring, and reporting on all financial income sources, ensuring compliance with accounting and financial policies. This job requires a detail-oriented and organized professional who can analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures. A successful Income Auditor will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to communicate effectively with various departments to ensure a seamless flow of financial information.


Responsibilities

  • Review and verify daily revenue information for report accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure that all income is correctly accounted for and posted in the system.
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports to management.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies in financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial statements as necessary.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all income audit activities and findings.
  • Provide support during external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of settled refunds, rebates, and discounts.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of any outstanding issues or discrepancies.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on income auditing processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in auditing or accounting positions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse teams and departments.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or similar is considered a plus.
