Inclusion Teacher – GEMS Al Barsha National School, Dubai
GEMS Al Barsha National School is seeking an inspirational and dedicated InclusionTeacher to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team in January 2027. Key Responsibilities:
UK approved Inclusion qualification relevant to working with young people and children in a school environment, such as a Master’s in Special Education Needs (SEN) or Inclusion and a relevant PGCE
Experience working in a through-school environment (age 3-18) is preferred
A track record of improving Inclusion provision in a school setting
Up to date knowledge of best practice in Inclusion and current policy in UAE, UK and globally
Strong knowledge of KHDA Inclusion guidelines, UAE education policies, and best practices in inclusive education is preferred
Experience in managing IEPs, interventions, and multi-tiered systems of support for diverse student needs
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with parents, leadership teams, and external partners
Familiarity with assistive technologies, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and evidence-based intervention strategies
A passion for inclusion and equity, ensuring all students can thrive in an academically challenging and supportive environment
Make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events.
Skills Description
Qualifications & Knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (or equivalent teaching qualification).
Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree and recognised teaching certification/licence.
Strong understanding of the use of ICT in education to enhance learning and engagement.
Skills & Attributes
A committed and skilled classroom practitioner with high expectations for student learning and behaviour.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
A reflective practitioner who embraces continuous professional development.
Flexible, positive, and able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Experience
Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a relevant subject area and age group.
Previous experience teaching the National Curriculum for England is highly desirable.
Experience within an international school setting is an advantage.
