Role Purpose
The In-House Photographer & Videographer will be responsible for visually documenting the development, launch, and ongoing operations of the group’s hospitality, bakery, café, restaurant, bar, retail, and lifestyle concepts.
The primary focus of the role is photography, with additional responsibility for creating short-form video content, behind-the-scenes footage, reels, and edited visual assets for brand, marketing, press, internal, digital, and presentation use.
This role requires someone with a strong eye for hospitality, food, drinks, interiors, lifestyle, people, products, and brand storytelling. The ideal candidate should be able to capture the atmosphere, energy, detail, craft, and development journey of a growing hospitality group.
Key Responsibilities
Photography
- Capture high-quality photography across all group concepts, including hotels, Leisure, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, bars, retail areas, kitchens, production spaces, and lifestyle environments.
- Photograph food, drinks, bakery products, cakes, pastries, breads, retail products, packaged goods, interiors, exterior environments, team members, events, tastings, launches, and behind-the-scenes activity.
- Document the development journey of new concepts, including menu development, tastings, product trials, kitchen testing, fit-out progress, team training, pre-opening activity, supplier visits, and launch preparation.
- Produce consistent, brand-appropriate imagery for use across websites, menus, presentations, press materials, marketing collateral, digital channels, internal updates, and brand archives.
- Ensure all imagery reflects the tone, quality, and positioning of each individual brand within the group.
- Capture both polished campaign-style images and natural behind-the-scenes moments.
- Support photography for brand launches, product launches, menu launches, seasonal campaigns, events, and venue openings.
Videography & Short-Form Content
- Capture short-form video footage suitable for reels, digital content, website use, presentations, and brand storytelling.
- Film behind-the-scenes activity, chef and team moments, product development, food and drink preparation, venue walkthroughs, events, tastings, launches, and lifestyle-led content.
- Create simple, high-quality short edits, including reels, highlight videos, teasers, launch snippets, and visual storytelling pieces.
- Edit footage with appropriate pacing, framing, transitions, captions, music, and basic colour correction where required.
- Work with the brand and marketing team to create visual content that supports launches, campaigns, announcements, and ongoing brand activity.
- Ensure video content feels polished, natural, and aligned with the brand rather than overly generic or trend-led.
Food, Drink & Product Photography
- Photograph plated dishes, bakery products, cakes, pastries, breads, drinks, coffee, bottled products, retail goods, packaging, and merchandise.
- Understand basic food styling, lighting, composition, angles, texture, freshness, and presentation.
- Work closely with chefs, bakers, bar teams, and product teams to capture items at their best.
- Support product shoots for retail, delivery platforms, menus, websites, catalogues, brand presentations, and internal approvals.
- Ensure products are photographed consistently and accurately for commercial and brand use.
- Capture both clean product-focused shots and more atmospheric lifestyle-led imagery.
Lifestyle, Hospitality & Environment Shoots
- Capture guest experience, venue atmosphere, team interaction, service details, table settings, interiors, terraces, bars, counters, retail displays, and lifestyle moments.
- Create imagery that communicates the personality, energy, and experience of each concept.
- Support pre-opening and launch shoots, including soft openings, events, training days, tastings, and press previews.
- Capture both candid and directed moments with team members, chefs, founders, partners, and guests where required.
- Photograph venues and environments in a way that reflects the full guest journey and overall brand positioning.
Behind-the-Scenes Documentation
- Document the build-up and development of the group, including concept creation, menu development, recipe testing, tastings, training, fit-out progress, product trials, and launch preparation.
- Capture the craft, detail, process, people, and operational energy behind each concept.
- Build a strong visual archive of the group’s journey from development stage through to opening and ongoing operations.
- Capture content that may be used for future storytelling, press, investor presentations, internal reports, recruitment, social channels, and brand history.
- Work discreetly in live working environments without disrupting chefs, teams, guests, or operations.
Editing & Post-Production
- Edit, retouch, colour-correct, crop, and prepare images for multiple uses and formats.
- Edit short videos and reels suitable for digital, presentation, and marketing use.
- Prepare final assets in the correct formats for web, print, press, presentations, internal use, and digital platforms.
- Apply consistent editing standards across each brand while adapting the style where required.
- Ensure images are clean, sharp, well-composed, and brand-appropriate.
- Ensure video edits are concise, professional, and visually engaging.
Digital Asset Management
- Maintain a well-organised digital asset library, including clear file naming, folders, dates, brand categories, and usage references.
- Store and organise raw files, edited files, selects, final exports, and video assets.
- Ensure photography and video assets are easy for relevant team members to locate and use.
- Maintain archives by brand, concept, project, event, product, and date.
- Ensure all final assets are backed up and properly stored.
Creative Support
- Work closely with the brand, marketing, culinary, bakery, bar, operations, and leadership teams to understand upcoming priorities and shoot requirements.
- Contribute creative ideas for visual storytelling, shoot concepts, content formats, angles, and brand moments.
- Support campaign shoots, seasonal content, menu launches, product launches, venue openings, and special events.
- Adapt photography and video style to suit different concepts within the group while maintaining overall quality standards.
- Take direction from multiple stakeholders while also being proactive in identifying moments worth capturing.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in photography, preferably within hospitality, lifestyle, food and beverage, retail, luxury, hotels, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, or consumer brands.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating food, drink, product, lifestyle, interiors, and people photography.
- Experience shooting behind-the-scenes content, events, launches, and brand storytelling.
- Practical experience creating and editing short-form video content.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple brands, venues, or projects is preferred.
- Previous in-house, agency, freelance, hospitality group, hotel, restaurant, or lifestyle brand experience would be advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical photography skills, including lighting, composition, framing, exposure, and editing.
- Good videography skills, especially for short-form digital content.
- Strong editing ability for both still images and short videos.
- Good understanding of hospitality, food presentation, lifestyle imagery, interiors, and brand-led content.
- Ability to shoot both polished commercial imagery and natural behind-the-scenes content.
- Strong visual taste and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple shoots across different locations and brands.
- Comfortable working around kitchens, chefs, bar teams, restaurants, guests, retail products, and live operational environments.
- Organised approach to file management, asset storage, editing workflow, and delivery timelines.
- Flexible, proactive, discreet, and able to capture moments without disrupting operations.
- Good communication skills and ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality content within deadlines.
Technical Requirements
The candidate should be confident using professional photography and video equipment and editing software, including some or all of the following:
- DSLR or mirrorless camera systems.
- Lenses suitable for food, product, interiors, lifestyle, and people photography.
- Basic lighting equipment, reflectors, diffusers, tripods, and stabilisation equipment.
- Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar video editing software.
- Basic audio equipment would be an advantage.
- Ability to export assets in formats suitable for web, print, presentation, press, and digital platforms.
- Ability to manage and organise large volumes of photography and video files.
Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or certification in photography, film, media, visual communication, design, or a related field preferred.
- Strong practical portfolio may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
- Hospitality, food, product, or lifestyle photography training would be an advantage.

Working Pattern
This role may be structured as:
- Full-time in-house position; or
- Part-time role of 3–4 days per week; or
- Short-term contract during pre-opening, launch, and development phases; or
- Project-based engagement depending on business needs.
Flexibility will be required around tastings, launches, events, venue openings, early production days, and occasional evening or weekend shoots.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a visually driven photographer with strong hospitality and lifestyle experience, who can comfortably move between food, drinks, products, people, interiors, and behind-the-scenes documentation.
They should have a strong eye for detail, understand how to capture premium hospitality environments, and be able to create both polished brand imagery and natural, authentic content that tells the story of a growing group.
They should be proactive, organised, flexible, creative, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with multiple concepts under development at the same time.
