Job Description

The Import and Export Manager, identified by role code 02J26, plays a crucial role in managing the global flow of goods for a company. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire import and export process for the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations and customs laws.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to facilitate shipments.
  • Negotiate shipping contracts and pricing with transportation and logistics providers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and review shipping documents, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting international shipping and trade.
  • Resolve issues related to shipment delays, customs clearance, and discrepancies in documentation.
  • Analyze and manage the logistics budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of third-party logistics providers.
  • Develop contingency plans for potential disruptions in the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in import/export management or logistics.
  • Strong understanding of global shipping and customs regulations.
  • Proficient in logistics software and supply chain management tools.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience in managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle complex data and reports.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
