Job Description

The Payload Embedded Software Engineer will be injected in the SAR Payload System Engineering team with the task to support the definition of a variety of embedded flight software applications from the architecture, the design, the implementation and validation of the Payload Flight Software.

In a first stage the successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of national young engineers with the purpose to receive adequate training on how to develop the necessary skills to monitor the operations of a SAR Payload. The training will have a duration of 24 months and will take place for 14 consecutive months at International Partner premise in Europe.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with creativity and intellectual curiosity, approaching constraints with a problem-solving mindset and is comfortable questioning existing approaches to find better solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Be part of the UAE ToK team with the aim to:

Acquire the necessary theoretical and practical competences to autonomously cover the position in future programs

Acquire the necessary skills to work in an integrated and multidisciplinary team

Acquire the notions on the requirements management

After the completion of the training the candidate shall:

Support to mission analysis & requirements.

Specify software functions in accordance with the mission requirements with interaction with Platform OBC Team

Manage Payload embedded software functions and interfaces.

Database definition

Support sub-system Assembly, Integration and Test activities

Support Satellite testing: EGSE, Test supervision, data analysis

Support Satellite tests at MDA, at test facilities or at supplier premises

Write up subsystem Operations Manual and Operation Procedures

Attend all test reviews TRR, TRB, DRB, and NCR’s.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering related field.

Experience:

Previous short work experience in field of production of software tools to monitor system operations, electrical circuits design and testing is beneficial.Personal Attributes:

Detail-Oriented: A keen attention to detail and accuracy, especially when it comes to testing, simulations, and design analysis.

Proactive and Initiative-Driven: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task management.

Adaptable: Available to travel abroad and spend medium/long periods (up to 2 years) at Suppliers/Partners/Supplier premises. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where innovation and change are constant.
