Reimagine What’s Possible 

  • Regional lead on applicable process safety standards, design tools and work processes.
  • Facilitate process safety hazard reviews in region, applying risk-based criteria to prioritize facility assessments and review actions.
  • Facilitate Pre-Start Up Safety review / ORIs for the projects being executed in the IG Plants/ Businesses
  • Conducting process hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate these risks. Track and assist with any resulting recommendations.
  • Perform risk analysis and coach others on the use of risk analysis techniques.
  • Providing technical advice on process safety issues to various stake holders, including management, engineering and operations teams.
  • Drive Process Safety improvement through evaluation of regional Process Safety incidents and near miss trends to identify areas of improvement and prevent recurrences.
  • Process Safety lead on regional incident Root Cause Analysis
  • Lead process safety improvement projects, Train and guide plant operating teams on process safety improvement.
  • Lead the HAZOP studies required for plants upgrades and approve related change notices ‘’eMOCs’’.
  • Support new plant design and process technology optimization to meet commercial objectives during project development activities.
  • Support acquisition team during technical due diligence and post-acquisition process safety integration.
  • Collaborating with the plants supervisors and managers to ensure that PSM systems are up to date.

  • Be a process safety mentor for the technical and operations team.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or petroleum engineering or Process Safety Engineering or equivalent field from a recognized university
  • Minimum of total 10+ years’ relevant working experience in petrochemical, oil and gas industry in Technical, Operations, Process Design, or Engineering functions and at least 5 years of experience of process safety role.
  • Prior experience of working within an Industrial Gas manufacturing companies/ Oil & Gas production facility is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of process safety management system, risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and formulate effective mitigation strategies
  • Knowledge and experience with quantitative risk assessment techniques such as LOPA
  • Good working knowledge of engineering software tools such as PHAST, PHA-Pro, Hysys, Flarenet, FlareSim, Pipenet/AFT is an advantage
  • Experience with HAZOP, Management of Change (MOC), Risk Management and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) risk assessments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey safety protocols and procedures. Capable of influencing, engaging facilitating workgroups as well as in managing interfaces with engineering consultants, construction, operations etc.
