An HVAC Technician is tasked with installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and fix complex systems efficiently. HVAC Technicians work both in residential and commercial settings, ensuring that all HVAC systems operate as intended to maintain a comfortable climate indoors. They must be knowledgeable about various types of HVAC units and possess an ability to work in varied environmental conditions. This position also demands excellent customer service skills, as technicians often interact directly with clients to assess their needs and explain solutions. Above all, ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations is paramount in this role.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues within HVAC systems accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections of heating and cooling systems for safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Perform preventative maintenance to extend system lifespan and prevent breakdowns.
• Interpret technical diagrams and blueprints during installation and repair processes.
• Provide accurate cost estimates and time frames for HVAC system repairs and installations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and building codes during all tasks.
• Keep detailed records of all work performed and materials used on job sites.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of new HVAC technologies and industry practices.
• Communicate effectively with clients about their HVAC options and service needs.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls to restore essential HVAC services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is required.
• Previous experience as an HVAC Technician or in a related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and proficient in using diagnostic tools.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for job site travel.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and various weather conditions safely.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for effective troubleshooting.
