About The Role

The HR Generalist role at Tokio Marine is a vital position responsible for delivering a broad spectrum of human resources services aligned with the companys strategic objectives and HR initiatives. This position primarily supports our remote workforce, acting as the main point of contact for HR-related matters. Collaborating closely with Senior HR Managers, the HR Generalist will facilitate employee relations, performance management, and engagement activities, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The role also encompasses supporting onboarding and offboarding procedures, coordinating training programs, and managing various HR projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle sensitive employee matters with confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree; HR-related degree preferred
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct HR experience; HR Generalist experience preferred
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Customer service orientation with a collaborative approach
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in insurance organizations or international companies is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for all remote employees, providing guidance and support on employee relations issues
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs
  • Assist in developing and administering HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness
  • Support performance management and compensation/bonus program administration
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees
  • Prepare and present monthly HR metrics reports for executive leadership, including turnover, payroll costs, and recruitment data
  • Develop and deliver HR-related presentations and reports using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Plan and support company-wide employee engagement events, social activities, and CSR initiatives
  • Draft, review, and edit internal employee communications and coordinate newsletter content
  • Support or lead social media efforts related to HR initiatives and employer branding
  • Coordinate with Benefits on leave management, ADA interactive process, and related issues
  • Partner with Enterprise Training to organize and coordinate on-site training programs
  • Respond to unemployment claims, wage disputes, and employment verification requests
  • Maintain accurate I-9 documentation in compliance with federal regulations
  • Manage HR information system records and generate reports from the database
  • Coordinate immigration-related processes such as H-1B transfers, extensions, and Green Card sponsorships with external counsel
  • Monitor external HR trends and legal updates to recommend organizational strategies and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies during all HR activities
