The HSE UAE Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems within Hitachi Energy Systems LLC's operations across the UAE, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Job Responsibilities**
Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with UAE legal requirements (e.g., AD EHSMS, OSHAD) and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
Conduct regular HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improvement.
Deliver HSE training and awareness sessions to employees, contractors, and visitors, covering topics such as emergency procedures, safe work practices, and environmental protection.
Maintain accurate HSE records, documentation, and reporting systems, including incident logs, inspection reports, training records, and permits to work.
Support the preparation of HSE performance reports for management, highlighting key trends, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Liaise with local regulatory authorities, clients, and other stakeholders on HSE matters.
Promote a strong safety culture through active participation in HSE committees, safety campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
Stay updated with changes in HSE legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements.
Job Qualifications**
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent recognized HSE qualification is essential.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably within the energy, power, or industrial sectors in the UAE.
Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., AD EHSMS, OSHAD, Dubai Municipality regulations).
Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE audits.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required; Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage.
Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
