HSE Specialist (225-826)

As an HSE Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental standards are met and maintained within the organization. Your primary focus will be to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with government regulations and standards. You will conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement strategic solutions to mitigate these risks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility through education, training, and leadership. You will also be responsible for investigating incidents and providing recommendations to prevent future occurrences, thereby contributing to the organization's goal of a safe and sustainable workplace.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and protocols in the organization.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Perform audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to establish safety goals and objectives for the organization.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Provide training and education to employees on HSE policies and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of HSE activities and reports.
• Coordinate with emergency response teams and conduct drills and training exercises.
• Advise and lead the management team in HSE matters, ensuring constant improvement.
• Monitor industry trends and incorporate best practices into the company's HSE program.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• A minimum of 3–5 years' experience as an HSE specialist or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, policies, and standards.
• Excellent analytical skills to conduct thorough risk assessments and audits.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with an ability to train others.
• Certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE-related software tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in management systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence others effectively.
