Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, and promoting a culture of safety across our organization. This role is critical in maintaining the highest levels of safety standards and environmental care while working collaboratively with various departments to achieve organizational goals. As an HSE Specialist, you will be responsible for defining and implementing effective health and safety strategies, conducting risk assessments, and training employees. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide HSE training programs to raise awareness and ensure staff competency.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of safety measures and initiatives regularly.
  • Collaborate with management to integrate HSE practices into strategic planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in the industry.
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct periodic drills with all departments.
  • Develop environmental management plans to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact.
  • Prepare detailed HSE performance reports to present to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of safety through continuous improvement initiatives and employee engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an HSE role within a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective HSE management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and report dissemination.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and drive safety culture initiatives.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or similar are highly desirable.
