Role Overview
This role will have three key responsibilities (1) HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) (2) Facility Management and (3) Loss prevention, partnering with warehouse and logistics operations teams to execute company policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for our Associates and Operators. A successful HSE manager will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Teams and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and HSE data analysis.
The HSE officer must have effective communication skills and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. Serve as point of contact for and coordinate measures to manage risk with local management and external authorities (e.g. Law enforcement agencies and industry associations) on all Safety or Security or any compliance related matter.
They will work to identify best practices and incorporate the best practices and methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the HSE landscape. They will possess excellent HSE program knowledge as well as Workplace and ergonomic knowledge and be able to handle independently the external authorities in case of any incident reporting and closure.
Key Responsibilities
HSE (Health, Safety and Environment)
Build the entire HSE framework, policies, and procedures from scratch for warehouse and logistics operations
Develop and implement all HSE policies, SOPs, checklists, and compliance systems aligned with UAE regulations and international best practices
Design the end-to-end HSE governance structure, reporting systems, and audit mechanisms
Define HSE KPIs, dashboards, and performance tracking systems
Conduct daily/weekly inspections of racking, equipment, walkways, fire exits, and emergency systems
Lead incident and near-miss investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions
Maintain safety documentation including permits, checklists, toolbox talks, and MSDS records
Ensure warehouse hygiene standards including cleanliness, pest control, and waste management
Ensure first aid readiness including stocked kits, trained first aiders, and incident logs
Promote health awareness initiatives such as hydration, fatigue management, and safe lifting practices
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations including waste disposal, emissions, and spill control
Facility Management
Ensure the periodic and regular maintenance of the MHEs and machines in the warehouse
Collaborate with all the warehouse and logistics POCs to manage the procurement and maintenance of the warehouse consumables and IT equipment
Asset management: Maintain the record of all the contracts, licenses and AMC documents and ensure the renewals are done before the expiry dates.
Collaborate with the functional heads in launching new sites to ensure facility services are secured in a timely manner.
Loss Prevention
Contribute to the identification of vulnerabilities (e.g., loss, associate experience, process improvement) and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards
Serve as point of contact for and coordinate measures to manage risk with local management and external authorities (e.g. Law enforcement agencies and industry associations) on all security-related matters.
Incident & Emergency Management
Serve as point of contact for and coordinate measures to manage risk with local management and external authorities (e.g. Law enforcement agencies and industry associations) on all Safety or Security or any compliance related matter.
Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Maintain incident logs and ensure timely closure of actions
Coordinate emergency response drills including fire, evacuation, and spill response
Requirements
5+ years of experience in owning the responsibility of HSE or workplace safety programs in manufacturing, production or any warehouse operations
Experience in OSHA and other HSE related regulatory requirements in the UAE
Clear knowledge and awareness of the local rule and regulations from the authorities.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
Experience in audits, risk assessments, and compliance systems
Certification in NEBOSH or equivalent (preferred/required based on level)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in building HSE functions or systems from scratch is highly preferred
ISO standards knowledge (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Experience working in fast-paced, tech-enabled organizations
