Job Description

As an HSE Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety and compliance within our organization, preserving both employee well-being and regulatory adherence. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. Your expertise will guide us in minimizing risks and promoting a culture of safety throughout the company. With your proactive approach, you will address potential hazards and report safety compliance issues to ensure continuous improvement in occupational safety and environmental standards. Your commitment to a safe and healthy workplace will directly contribute to reducing accidents and enhancing operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions on health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
  • Ensure all safety equipment and personal protective gear are readily available and maintained.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management among all employees.
  • Develop emergency response plans and coordinate drills to ensure readiness.
  • Analyze health and safety statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Advise management on regulatory updates and changes in safety protocols and practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of safety reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • At least three years of experience in a related HSE role in an industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and advise employees effectively.
  • Competence in conducting risk assessments and managing safety audits independently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address safety issues efficiently.
