Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team and ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs and policies in compliance with industry standards and legal requirements. This role requires someone with excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The HSE Officer will play a vital role in promoting a culture of safety within the organization, ensuring that all employees are aware of, and compliant with, safety regulations. Your expertise will help in reducing risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce, and minimizing potential liabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and protocols.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and safety breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and legal guidelines related to HSE.
  • Lead and coordinate emergency response drills and activities with the team.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for employees on safe work practices.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Review and update safety manuals, procedures, and protocols at regular intervals.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure alignment of safety goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, corrective actions, and safety statistics.
  • Advise management on health and safety standards and best practices implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and modify as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff to ensure safety awareness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar HSE role.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting.
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent in health and safety.
  • Ability to train and motivate others to understand and follow safety measures.
