Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. You will play a crucial role in mitigating risks through monitoring, planning, and advisory assistance, in addition to facilitating trainings and emergency preparedness on the work site. Your role involves working closely with management, employees, and contractors to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of HSE practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform in high-pressure situations. This position provides an opportunity to lead initiatives that ensure the well-being of our employees and the public, as well as the sustainability of our physical environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive HSE programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards effectively.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on HSE metrics and incident investigations.
  • Facilitate regular safety training sessions and workshops for employees and contractors.
  • Advise management on upcoming regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Establish, maintain, and regularly update HSE records and documents systematically.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and supervisors to develop job hazard analyses.
  • Increase safety awareness at all levels of the organization via ongoing communication efforts.
  • Facilitate emergency response drills to test and improve preparedness procedures.
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies and other relevant third-party entities as necessary.
  • Coordinate workplace environment assessments, including noise, air quality, and ergonomic evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an HSE Officer or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in health and safety data management.
  • Certification in HSE or safety management, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments with diverse teams.
