HSE Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The HSE Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, client requirements, and Mirage standards on construction sites. This role involves monitoring site activities, conducting audits, enforcing safety policies, and ensuring that contractors adhere to the highest safety standards. The HSE Engineer will also be responsible for incident investigations and recommending corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, client requirements, and company HSE standards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for site personnel.
• Review method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
• Monitor environmental compliance, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain HSE reports, statistics, and regulatory documentation.
• Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients on HSE matters.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years of HSE experience in construction, engineering consultancy.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international safety standards.
• Strong communication, reporting, and incident investigation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and HSE reporting systems.
