Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety protocols and environmental management systems and be committed to ensuring the highest standards of HSE are maintained across all operations and projects. This position requires someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments to implement initiatives that safeguard employees' health, safety, and welfare while ensuring environmental stewardship. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing, developing, and overseeing systems that prevent incidents, mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections at project sites and facilities.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on HSE performance and areas for improvement.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of incidents and non-compliance.
  • Collaborate with management to establish HSE goals and performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Manage emergency response drills and contingency plans at all locations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, legal requirements, and best practices in HSE.
  • Evaluate new equipment and processes for HSE risks and recommend controls.
  • Coordinate and lead safety meetings and review findings with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE roles within industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels.
  • Certification in HSE management or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully improving safety metrics and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
