Job Description

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing policies to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This professional is tasked with minimizing risks, complying with legal and company standards, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. The HSE Engineer plays a critical role in preventing accidents and injuries by identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures. This position requires a keen understanding of regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to health and safety management. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the HSE Engineer also facilitates training, conducts inspections, and reviews reports to ensure that the organization maintains the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
  • Analyze data from safety reports to improve performance and prevent incidents.
  • Lead risk assessments and recommend proactive measures for risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to ensure HSE policies are understood.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all safety protocols and corrective measures.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety-related operations and activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
  • Advise management on safety concerns and provide solutions when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an HSE role or similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess and mitigate potential safety risks.
  • Proven ability to conduct training and engage with all levels of staff.
  • Effective communication skills to report findings and recommend solutions.
  • Certification in OSHA or other relevant HSE certifications preferred.
