Job Description

An HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with environmental regulations in various industries. This professional is responsible for developing and implementing policies that protect employees and the environment from harm. The HSE Engineer assesses potential risks, designs mitigation strategies, and promotes a culture of safety within the organization. They conduct audits, provide training, and ensure compliance with local and international safety standards. With a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, they work closely with management and operational teams to create a safe and sustainable working environment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and environmental impacts.
  • Provide HSE training and educational programs to employees at all levels.
  • Design emergency response plans and conduct evacuation drills routinely.
  • Analyze incident reports to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Advise on the use of protective equipment and safety gear for high-risk tasks.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and ensure the proper maintenance of safety systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety into project designs.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on safety performance to senior management.
  • Promote a strong safety culture that emphasizes proactive hazard management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an HSE engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for effective risk management.
  • Proven ability to develop and conduct safety training and educational sessions.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety is preferred but not mandatory.
