Job Description

This role assists the People & Culture (P&C) department with various administrative and compliance-related tasks and regularly communicates with management and team members.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work with third-party vendor to review background check results and flag certain results for pre-adverse action. Review statements by applicants. Make determinations based on background check results, in relation to job duties of the applicants.
  • Assist in reviewing company policies and P&C practices at retail locations to adhere to federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Work to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct audits to assist the P&C compliance team.
  • Respond to internal and external P&C-related inquiries and requests.
  • Coordinate the performance of certain projects, which require data gathering, review of information, and distribution of summaries to field management.
  • Utilizing HRIS systems, prepare reporting to identify potential compliance concerns.
  • Work regularly in Excel for reporting.
  • Communicate regularly with field managers via email, occasionally communicate via phone.
  • Perform HRIS data entry and updates, occasionally.
  • Assist with some compliance-related reporting.
  • Review employment information inputted by field management for compliance and accuracy, occasionally.
  • Perform special projects, as directed.
  • Prepare letters, spreadsheets, reports and memos.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year working in a business/professional environment
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Human Resources functions is preferred
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Possess a high level of critical thinking skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
