Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of an establishment. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the work of the housekeeping staff to ensure the property maintains standards of exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and overall guest satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include supervising daily housekeeping operations, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, training new and existing staff, and implementing the highest standards of cleanliness for both guests and employees. You will also be tasked with managing budgets for cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that resources are efficiently utilized. This role is perfect for an organized and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a strong leadership ability.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily activities of the housekeeping staff to ensure optimal service levels.
  • Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure they are clean and orderly.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures and protocol adherence.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder cleaning supplies as necessary for operations.
  • Develop and implement policies to enhance guest satisfaction and service quality.
  • Review and address guest complaints regarding room cleanliness and housekeeping services.
  • Conduct regular meetings with housekeeping staff to communicate updates and standards.
  • Prepare staff schedules ensuring adequate coverage for efficient operations.
  • Maintain detailed records of housekeeping activities and manage budgets effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the property.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for repair and upkeep of housekeeping equipment.
  • Lead by example to motivate housekeeping staff, fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a supervisory housekeeping position in hospitality or similar field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a busy environment.
  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment, and understanding of hygiene standards.
  • Capability to handle guest concerns with a professional and solution-oriented demeanor.
  • Proficiency in using computers for scheduling and inventory management tasks.
