Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a crucial member of the hospitality team responsible for overseeing and ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of hotel rooms and public areas. This role involves managing the housekeeping staff to achieve operational excellence, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. The supervisor must possess strong leadership skills to coordinate staff schedules, enforce policies, and inspect rooms to guarantee that cleaning assignments meet the hotel's standards. The Housekeeping Supervisor acts as a bridge between the housekeeping team and management, handling guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly. With an eye for detail and commitment to guest service, this position is key to the success of the hotel's operations.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring high-quality cleaning activities.
  • Inspect hotel rooms and public areas to maintain hotel cleanliness standards.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping operations and staff schedules efficiently.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on cleaning protocols and customer service expectations.
  • Resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping services efficiently and courteously.
  • Manage inventory supplies, including cleaning products and linens, efficiently.
  • Conduct regular meetings with housekeeping staff to communicate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards within the property.
  • Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities and inventory usage.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards encountered during inspections.
  • Assist in organizing special cleaning and deep cleaning projects as required.
  • Support management with staffing needs and housekeeping budget management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required for applicants.
  • Proven experience in housekeeping management or supervisory roles is essential.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills for a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and housekeeping management software.
