Job Description:

As a Heavy Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials in a busy warehouse or manufacturing environment. Your expertise and precision in operating heavy forklifts will directly contribute to the smooth operations and productivity of the facility. You will be tasked with loading, unloading, transporting, and stacking heavy goods and materials. With a focus on maintaining safety protocols, you will operate forklifts in various conditions, including cold storage, outdoor yards, and semi-enclosed spaces. This dynamic role requires a keen attention to detail, the ability to follow safety procedures, and effective communication skills to work alongside other team members. Your efficiency in handling heavy forklifts will ensure that the logistics of the warehouse are executed seamlessly, minimizing downtime and maintaining overall inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate heavy forklifts to move and stack materials efficiently in busy environments.
• Load and unload goods from trucks, storage areas, and production lines with precision.
• Conduct pre-operational checks, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues immediately.
• Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all personnel.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
• Assist in the keeping accurate records of inventory, goods movements, and equipment usage.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Perform daily inspections of the forklift to ensure its readiness for operations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding operational status.
• Assist in training new operators on safe and efficient heavy forklift operations.
• Adapt to changing priorities and work in different areas of the facility as required.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations at all times.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating heavy forklifts in industrial settings.
• Valid forklift operator certification from a recognized institution or governing body.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations in warehouse operations.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Excellent eyesight, coordination, and ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including cold storage and outdoor environments.
• Strong physical condition with the ability to lift and move heavy loads safely.
