Heavy Forklift Operator (225-728)

As a Heavy Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in the efficient operation of our warehouse or construction site by ensuring the safe and effective handling of heavy materials and goods. You will be responsible for operating industrial forklifts to load and unload materials and deliveries, move them to and from storage areas, and transport them to and from vehicles and loading docks. You will be expected to maintain a high standard of safety, be meticulous in your operation to prevent damage to goods and equipment, and ensure that all operations are completed efficiently. Your expertise as a Heavy Forklift Operator will contribute to the smooth operation of day-to-day activities, supporting overall productivity and safety within the workspace.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy-duty forklifts for transporting and stacking large loads.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to organize materials for efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo inventory movements and report discrepancies.
• Load and unload trucks or containers using forklifts with precision and care.
• Ensure proper weight distribution during the loading of materials onto forklifts.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while operating heavy machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report any issues or hazards immediately.
• Operate machinery, including cranes or hoists, for complex material handling tasks.
• Assist with inventory control, including counting and organizing stored goods.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance operating skills and equipment knowledge.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required for this position.
• Proven experience as a heavy forklift operator in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Ability to understand and adhere to safety guidelines and operational procedures.
• Valid forklift operator certification or license required for operating heavy machinery.
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials safely.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness while operating machinery.
• Proficient in basic maintenance of forklifts and identifying mechanical issues.
