Job Description

As a Healthcare Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors entering our healthcare facility. You play a vital role in creating a welcoming and organized environment for everyone. Your primary duties will include efficiently managing front desk operations, answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records. A successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. With your attention to detail and strong organizational skills, you will ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare services, contributing significantly to the overall patient experience. Proficiency in handling confidential information and a commitment to providing excellent customer service are crucial attributes for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet patients and visitors with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Efficiently manage the front desk operations and answer telephone inquiries.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain and update patient records in accordance with privacy regulations.
  • Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, including financial transactions.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and support staff.
  • Manage and resolve patient complaints or escalate them when necessary.
  • Ensure the waiting area is well-organized, clean, and stocked with necessary materials.
  • Provide accurate information about services and direct patients to the right departments.
  • Assist with special administrative projects and support tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies for patient coverage verification.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the facility premises.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities for a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information respectfully.
  • Friendly, professional attitude with interpersonal skills to handle diverse patients.
