The Healthcare Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by managing front desk tasks with efficiency and professionalism. Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
  • Schedule patient appointments accurately, coordinating with healthcare providers and staff.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating records and billing information.
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy, providing solutions or escalating when necessary.
  • Organize and maintain the reception area to ensure a neat, orderly environment.
  • Perform data entry tasks, maintaining patient files and office documentation meticulously.
  • Coordinate with laboratory and radiology departments to facilitate patient tests and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of patient information materials and resources.
  • Support office staff with diverse administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.
  • Maintain an inventory of office supplies, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in healthcare administration is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a receptionist or administrative role within a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Empathy and patience when dealing with patients, providing top-tier customer service.
