Job Description

The Healthcare Receptionist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of a healthcare facility. Acting as the first point of contact for patients, this position involves a dynamic mix of administrative tasks, customer service, and communication skills. The receptionist is responsible for greeting patients, managing appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors with a welcoming demeanor.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments using healthcare management software.
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information.
  • Handle phone inquiries, directing calls to respective departments efficiently.
  • Process billing and collect payments for services rendered promptly.
  • Coordinate with medical staff for patient check-ins and service updates.
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers effectively.
  • Assist in emergency procedures and guide patients accordingly when necessary.
  • Monitor patient flow and liaise with nurses and doctors regarding patient appointments.
  • Prepare and distribute patient-related paperwork and documents as needed.
  • Provide basic administrative support to healthcare staff and management team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education level is required.
  • Prior experience in reception or administrative roles in healthcare settings.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach to patient interaction.
  • Proficiency in healthcare management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
